ODBDSLC204

I was inspired by the soft colors I saw in the first inspiration picture that was used for this challenge at ODBDSLC204. It is hard to tell because I spritzed the stamp for the background, but I used that butterfly grunge background stamp as my background and the sentiment is from the set that the butterfly set that coordinates with background stamp. I punched the leafy border with a Martha Stewart punch and then added the mini primas over the flowers that were on the punch. I did not like the way the yellow ink came out too bright, but it doesn't look that bright on the actual card.

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #209

I just had to make use of this cute Sassy Cheryl digital this week for the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge to use 2 dies and some putple. We have a reason to celebrate this week, because a good portion of the great state of Texas got rain!! I used some Nestabilities die cuts for the image and frame. I used one for the Texas (which is a punch). The punched border is from Martha Stewart. I generated my sentiment on the computer. The musical notes are stickers and I added a fat purple bow!
I colored the Sassy Cheryl's digital with Copic markers.

CCEE Number challenge

This week's challenge for CCEE was to use numbers. Since I have a few graduation cards to get sent this week, I used this cute digital from Sassy Cheryl Designs. I added a blue bow at the neck and chipboard numbers down the side. I colored the image with copic markers.  To all the graduating seniors, best wishes, and let God guide your steps and protect you on your way.

Clear it out challenge

I checked by the Clear It Out Challenge this morning to see what I could use up in my stamproom. Always ready to deplete some of the stash in there. Today, it is a color challenge to use black, and stickers. I used this new Hampton Arts stamp, black and white designed papers left of over from previous projects. this week. I found these silver flourish stickers to stick around on the card too. I am always happy to se up some of my stash in my stamp room.

C4C237

This week for the Crazy 4 Challenges #237 the challenge is a color challenge: kraft, turquoise, and orange. I used  scraps I found in my scrap pile. The stamps I used are from Verve. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the zigzag turquoise piece, and a die cut using kraft for the leaves and vine.
The final touch was to color these rhinestones with an  orange copic marker to place as the center of my flowers. The flowers were colored with Copic markers.

Paper Players #197

Loved the sketch challenge that is going on over at The Paper Players' challenge this week.
I inked my embossing folder with teal zeal and ran my melon mambo cardstock through my Cuttlebug.
The dotted black and white is design paper, the white panel is stamped with a Recollection stamp, the verse is from Flourishes, and the flower is from Verve.

ODBDSLC203

This is for the sketch that is the challenge over at Our Daily Bread Designs this week.  I inked the background stamp that matches this cross and then spritzed it with water. I liked the watercolor effect that it has. I used Memento's sweet plum and teal zeal inks for this card.

Wow, this card got picked as one of the award winning cards last week. Thanks, ODBD for hosting these fun challenges.

PPSKETCH1

How fun all the May challenges on Friday have been making use of these incredible digital images from Powerpoppy. Thought black and white and silver with a few colors to pop from it would be a great color combo for these pretty parrot tulips. Having all four of these digital images and the sentiments that came with them, they  have been such a vital part of my card making this month. I have loved every single one of the cards and can't even decide which flower is my favorite. Looking forward to the June release and know Marcella will come up with something amazing. I don't know how she seems to be an endless creative spring of gorgeous ideas, but wow, I will always be one of her all time fans. Don't miss the great challenges you will find over at Powerpoppy.

The challenge was to use acetate. I cut this piece from a clear box I had. Then I placed it into an embossing folder and ran it through my cuttlebug. I used lilac paper behind it.  The image is a digital from Powerpoppy and the embossing folder is by Anna Griffin from Cuttlebug. To attach the acetate, I punched holes in it and tied it on with the ribbon. The white imaged panel is attached to the acetate. The lilac piece is the inside of the card. Come join in the fun here.

This week is a sketch for the C4C 236 challenge. I just had to use my new Art Impression stamp of this cute beach babe. School is almost over and summer is growing closer. Looks like a great way to relax for me.

What a great challenge today for PowerPoppy! It was an inspiration challenge and here is the album cover that inspired the challenge.

I was inspired by the colors and I used  the gerber daisies digital for my card. The sentiment is from Power Poppy as well.

CCEE1420

How exciting it is to be a part of the CCEE design team! These ladies have inspired me for quite some time and I have enjoyed taking part of these challenges over the years. I am honored that I have been asked to take part in this on a weekly basis. An added bonus is that I will be joining with my sister, Lynn. She was the first to become a rubber stamp collector, but I guess I helped increase our collections when I became an SU demonstrator. I am no longer a demonstrator for SU but I will forever be a rubber stamper.

I used an Art Impression stamp that I recently found at my Michael's. These are such fun stamps and needed to add a little humor to my stamp collection. The design paper is from My Mind's Eye. We are enjoying some unusually cool weather here in my part of Texas, but the good old hot summer will be here very soon I feel sure.

Come join us in this week's sketch challenge over at CCEE.

CCEE1419 "No sock" day

When I saw the challenge was "NO sock" day, I immediately thought of this little footprint stamp from an old retired set from Stampin' Up I have in my collection. I always need a baby card now and then so thought this would be a good one to have on hand. I am so excited to be invited to join the CCEE challenge team. The little diaper pin is a brad.Check out the challenge HERE.

CCEE1418

The challenge for the CCEE1418 challenge was to use the chalkboard technique. The stamp I used is from Verve. I added a woodgrained paper scrap to make the border of my chalkboard and embossed the right edge of the card. Added a few prima flowers and punched leaves as embellishments

Loving my new PowerPoppy images

Just had to share some of the great cards I have made using the new digital images from PowerPoppy.
I have never been too eager with doing digitals because of my weak computer skills. But, I have to say PowerPoppy has made it easy, and I haven't experienced a problem yet. I can not say that about other digitals I have ordered elsewhere. I have downloaded some and never found them again on my computer. Then I feel I have wasted my money. But I have to say that these little jewels are a steal for the price and what fun it is to resize and print on whatever paper you would like. I have always been a huge fan of Marcella Hawley's artwork. Her florals are amazing and although I have never had much luck in gardening, I feel like my paper garden is in full bloom with all of the images I have from her. Marcella and her dynamic design team have done one outstanding job this month. They are off and running and here's to their continuing success.
